Zach Joubert, a second year Software Engineering student, has just won second place in the “Grid Computing Now” competition organised by the British Computer Society and the Department for Trade and Industry.
Zach's entry involved a novel use of grid computing technology for tracking asteroids in near-Earth orbit. He wins a laptop and free use of grid computing facilities for prototyping his idea.
Zach is no stranger to success. In March this year he was part of "Team Medaware", who came second in the Microsoft Imagine Cup UK Software Development Challenge.
