Hull University Computer Science Department will be once again going out to San Jose this Mach to take part in the Game Development Conference. This is the foremost annual event for games programmers to meet up and pick up new skills.
Jon Purdy, leader of our Games BSc and MSc courses is a veteran of the conference, having been to the last five or six. Rob Miles is going on his first trip. Rob has been invited by Microsoft to present a session on how to write "casual" games for mobile devices. You can find out more about Rob's talk here. Rob has promised to blog about the event on his Crazy World and Spoke blogs. He will also be releasing full notes of the talk and all the sample code (how do you fancy taking a picture of your "friend" with your Smartphone, loading it into a game and then shooting it out of the sky).
